How Above & Beyond Addiction Services Ltd collects, uses and protects personal and health information.
Last updated: 7 September 2026
1. Who we are
Above & Beyond Addiction Services Ltd ("Above & Beyond", "we", "us") provides addiction and behavioural-health counselling, assessment, training and related services in New Zealand. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website and in the course of providing our services.
2. Information we collect
Through this website, we collect only what is needed to respond to an enquiry: your name, preferred contact method, contact details, and a general reason for your enquiry. We deliberately keep the enquiry form minimal and ask that you avoid sharing sensitive clinical detail through it. Further personal and health information is collected directly from you once a confidential consultation is arranged, and is handled in line with our clinical and professional obligations, including the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.
3. How we use information
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a confidential initial consultation.
- To provide, manage and coordinate the services you engage us for.
- To meet legal, professional, regulatory and insurance obligations.
- To manage bookings and payments through our secure scheduling platform (Cliniko).
4. Booking & payment platform
We use Cliniko to manage appointment booking and secure payment for consultations. When you book an appointment, information you provide to Cliniko is handled in accordance with Cliniko's own privacy and security practices, in addition to this policy. Cliniko stores information on secure, encrypted servers in Australia.
5. Disclosure of information
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information where required by law, where necessary to protect the safety of you or others, to relevant treatment providers or referrers with your consent, or to our professional indemnity insurer and regulatory bodies where relevant.
6. Storage & security
We take reasonable steps to keep personal and health information secure, including through access controls and secure clinical record-keeping systems. No online transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
7. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to access and request correction of personal information we hold about you. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
8. Complaints
If you have concerns about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
